With the return of fine weather, tiger mosquitoes are becoming more active again. All the signs are that this invasive exotic species will continue to expand in our canton this year. However, the difficult fight against this mosquito in inhabited areas will benefit from an additional means of action: a highly targeted anti-larva product designed for the treatment of drains. This product, which uses a biological principle that is not harmful to health or the environment, is now available to professionals from the cantonal authorities in a form that is highly effective for several weeks. An adapted version is also commercially available to private individuals. Beyond this innovation, good anti-tiger mosquito reflexes – eliminating all small accumulations of water in the home (saucers, watering-can bottoms, etc.) – remain the priority measures to be adopted at all times.
