Although the tiger mosquito is now established in the Canton, control measures have shown that it is possible to limit its expansion, and even eradicate it in some cases. The authorities’ objectives are to limit the density of the insect’s populations, monitor the situation and prevent the local transmission of disease. To this end, the Canton is continuing its monitoring and prevention campaigns, with the help of the communes concerned and the public. The public is invited to participate by removing breeding sites and reporting suspected mosquitoes on the national platform www.moustiques-suisse.ch.
